Hogwarts Legacy Gets NVIDIA DLSS 5 Neural Rendering Update

NVIDIA says Hogwarts Legacy receives DLSS 5 Neural Rendering on November 5 for RTX 50 Series, RTX Spark and GeForce NOW Ultimate.

NVIDIA has announced that Hogwarts Legacy receives DLSS 5 with 3D-Guided Neural Rendering on November 5, 2026. The update is designed to improve the appearance of lighting, materials, shadows and reflections while allowing developer Avalanche Software to preserve the game’s visual identity.

What does DLSS 5 change?

Unlike DLSS features focused on upscaling or frame generation, 3D-Guided Neural Rendering uses the game engine’s scene data as a foundation for AI-enhanced material and lighting detail. NVIDIA’s comparisons highlight richer environmental textures and shading in Hogsmeade.

Supported hardware

NVIDIA lists GeForce RTX 50 Series desktop GPUs and laptops, RTX Spark PCs and GeForce NOW Ultimate as supported options. Owners of older RTX cards should not assume this specific feature will work on their systems.

How to enable it

Install the supported game update and current NVIDIA driver, then look for the Neural Rendering setting in the game’s graphics options. Availability can depend on hardware and software versions.

What about frame rates?

NVIDIA says its newer Neural Rendering model is faster and uses less video memory than its earlier version. These are manufacturer claims, not independent benchmarks for every PC. Actual frame rates depend on the GPU, resolution, scene and graphics settings.

AJ Techno Freak take

The interesting question is not just whether DLSS 5 looks more realistic, but whether players prefer its altered presentation and whether the performance cost is worthwhile. Side-by-side testing will matter more than promotional screenshots.
