Sony is bringing the see-through electronics look to PS5 with its Prism Collection. Announced on 28 October, the range gives DualSense controllers and matching console covers a transparent finish rather than introducing a new console generation.
Colours, dates and announced prices
The collection comes in Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray. Sony says pre-orders begin on 10 November 2026, with the launch starting on 4 February 2027. Availability and exact release dates can differ by country.
Announced US recommended prices are US$84.99 for a controller and US$74.99 for console covers. These are separate accessories, not a bundle price or Australian pricing. Direct PlayStation ordering is offered only in specified markets; Australia is not included in the announcement’s direct-order country list.
What the announcement does—and does not—change
This is primarily a design announcement. A new colour or transparent shell is not evidence of better battery life, stronger wireless performance or a change to stick technology. Buyers who already have a working controller should treat the appearance as the reason to consider it, rather than assuming a technical upgrade.
Before placing a pre-order
- Check the console-cover listing. Match the accessory’s stated compatibility to your exact PS5 model; do not assume every cover fits every console.
- Compare the complete price. Delivery and local taxes can change the final amount. Imported stock may also have different return arrangements.
- Read the delivery estimate. A November pre-order does not mean a November delivery: the announced release window begins in February.
If you need a replacement controller immediately, an available standard model is a different purchase decision from waiting for this collection. If the design is what appeals, save the local listing and revisit its final terms when orders open.
